It is not for nothing that the lions are known as the king of the jungle (although it is more likely to find one in the savannah). The big cats are majestic creatures, a symbol of strength, strength and power.
They are fantastic cats because they live and hunt in groups, which is known as pride. Although they once had a much wider range, today's lions are found in the wild only in sub-Saharan Africa and in a small corner of India.
Germany is very far from the country of lions, but Valentin Gruener has always been fascinated by lions and all that concerned them: hunting strategies, social relations and much more ...
He developed a love for animals in general when he was a child; Feed the injured animals to health and dream of becoming a wildlife veterinarian. His career initially took a different turn: he left Germany for a job in an oil field in Canada!
In the end, however, Valentino decided he had to pursue his true dreams. He ended up in Namibia, southern Africa, where he met Mikkel Legath, a Danish who shared his charm with lions and other big cats.
From Namibia, Mikkel and Valentin went to Botswana, where they launched the Modisa Wildlife Project. Its objectives are to help protect wildlife and at the same time raise awareness of the importance of preserving what is left of the natural world.
Modisa is where Valentin found an abandoned lion cub who was only ten days old (but already weighed 20 pounds) and who would have been powerless on his own. He fed the lucky lioness, called Sirga, a mixture of cream, milk, eggs and vitamins.
A few years later, Valentin wondered how Sirga was and how he would react to seeing him. Would you still remember it? The video published below will show you the answer.
He rescued her when she was a cub; would the lioness recognize him now?
